Andrew M. Bailey

Andrew Bailey is a tenured professor at Yale-NUS College in Singapore and a fellow with the Bitcoin Policy Institute. His most recent research focuses on Bitcoin, naturally. One notable piece, titled ‘Bitcoin is King,’ argues that Bitcoin stands apart from other cryptocurrency projects. Another forthcoming book, ‘Resistance Money’ (to be published by Routledge Press), provides a comprehensive defense of Bitcoin for both academic and wider audiences.

Andrew began accumulating Bitcoin in 2014, initially considering it a speculative bet. However, his perspective has since evolved, and he now regards Bitcoin as a vital technology in resisting the growing threats of authoritarianism and the increasing surveillance and control of our money by corporations and governments. Bitcoin represents our best hope.
